Plain-English Summary
Teachers would be able to deduct more of their out-of-pocket classroom expenses from their taxes, and this deduction would automatically increase each year to keep up with inflation. Currently, teachers can only deduct a limited amount of money they spend on supplies and materials for their classrooms, but this change would raise that limit and ensure it stays meaningful as prices rise over time. This would put more money back in teachers' pockets by reducing their taxable income.
