R. 10621 To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to increase the State share of recovery under laws relating to false or fraudulent claims under the Medicaid program. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES September 28, 2026 Mr. Griffith (for himself, Mr. Rulli, Mr. Bentz, and Mr. Bilirakis) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to increase the State share of recovery under laws relating to false or fraudulent claims under the Medicaid program. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Medicaid Fraud Fighting and Taxpayer Protection Act''. SEC. 2. INCREASING STATE SHARE OF RECOVERY UNDER LAW RELATING TO FALSE OR FRAUDULENT CLAIMS. (a) In General.--Section 1909(a) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396h(a)) is amended by striking ``10 percentage points'' and inserting ``25 percentage points''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by this section shall apply with respect to amounts recovered under a State action brought on or after the date of the enactment of this section. <all>
