R. 9781 To amend the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act with respect to funding and assistance under such Act. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 20, 2026 Mr. Higgins of Louisiana introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act with respect to funding and assistance under such Act. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Defend American Agriculture Act''. SEC. 2. FUNDING AND ASSISTANCE UNDER THE COMMODITY CREDIT CORPORATION CHARTER ACT. Section 4(i) of the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act (15 U.S.C. 714b(i)) is amended by striking ``shall not at any time exceed in the aggregate $30,000,000,000.'' and inserting ``shall not exceed in the aggregate $45,000,000,000 for the period beginning on the date of the enactment of the Defend American Agriculture Act through September 30, 2031, and shall not at any time after September 30, 2031, exceed in the aggregate $30,000,000,000.''. <all>
