R. 9907 To enable the Department of Labor to promote the necessity of artificial intelligence to safeguard the welfare and job security of apprentices. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 23, 2026 Mr. Haridopolos introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Education and Workforce _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To enable the Department of Labor to promote the necessity of artificial intelligence to safeguard the welfare and job security of apprentices. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``LEARN AI Act''. SEC. 2. PROMOTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS. (a) Sense of Congress.--It is the sense of Congress that it should be the policy of the United States to promote workforce readiness for the adoption and use of artificial intelligence technologies through registered apprenticeship programs. (b) Department of Labor Activities.--The Secretary of Labor may-- (1) encourage the inclusion of instruction relating to artificial intelligence technologies, tools, and applications in registered apprenticeship programs; (2) develop and disseminate best practices for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in registered apprenticeship programs; (3) provide technical assistance to employers, labor organizations, educational institutions, and apprenticeship sponsors seeking to incorporate artificial intelligence-related competencies into registered apprenticeship programs; and (4) support all efforts related to registered apprenticeship programs carried out by the Department of Labor to prepare workers to adapt to technological changes associated with the use of artificial intelligence. (c) Construction.--Nothing in this section shall be construed to require any registered apprenticeship program to adopt artificial intelligence-related instruction or to alter existing program standards established under the Act of August 16, 1937 (commonly known as the ``National Apprenticeship Act''; 50 Stat. 664, chapter 663; 29 U.S.C. 50 et seq.). (d) Registered Apprenticeship Program Defined.--The term ``registered apprenticeship program'' means an apprenticeship program registered under the Act of August 16, 1937 (commonly known as the ``National Apprenticeship Act''; 50 Stat. 664, chapter 663; 29 U.S.C. 50 et seq.). <all>
