Plain-English Summary

The government would be required to study how toxic metals like arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead in infant formula affect babies' health and development. Based on the findings, the Health and Human Services Department would then set safety limits for how much of these harmful substances are allowed in infant formula sold in the United States. This would protect infants from potential poisoning and long-term health problems caused by exposure to these toxic metals.
