Plain-English Summary

The proposal would change tax rules to encourage companies to build and expand shipyards in the United States by offering financial incentives through the tax code. This would affect shipbuilding companies and workers in the maritime industry, with the goal of strengthening domestic naval and commercial ship production capacity. The measure is intended to reduce reliance on foreign shipbuilding and support American economic and military strength.
